Police said a seventh officer, who was not immediately identified, was also dismissed without pay and had not been charged. His role in the incident was not disclosed.
Nichols’ murder followed the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in 2020, leading to mass protests in the United States against police brutality.
