Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan shared his pride today when the show aired an emotional short film about his son Stanley on loneliness.
The 55-year-old star revealed that 23-year-old Stanley directed a bitter scene featuring the acclaimed poet and mental health activist Hussein Manawa.
Co-host Susanna Reed introduced the film and revealed that it was created as part of an ITV campaign to combat loneliness.
“The wonderful Hussein Manawar wrote a special poem for our campaign in the light of yesterday’s Blue Monday,” she added.
Then a short clip of the movie was played, showing that the three male characters were comforted by themselves young. They are urging them to speak up for advice.
They tell viewers to “know their triggers” in the fight to fight loneliness.
Pierce calls the scene “powerful,” and Susanna tells the viewer:
“Things will get better. The movie has a passage,” Wait a minute, “and that’s what we have to do.
“Wait a minute, there is light at the end of the tunnel … I promise it will be better.”
“I have a bit of a vested interest because this is a short film from One Five Productions and directed by my middle son, Stanley,” Pierce added.
Visibly writhing, he continued. “You and Gilbert, your little production company, doing it at Hussein, it’s a good job.
“I just knew … well, I didn’t know you finished it, and it suddenly appeared all over the internet yesterday!
“I did them very well and made a real difference-good luck to all of you.”
“Lonely” shows that three adults are open to mental health separately through one poem. The child actor depicts a young self.
Hussein previously told Metro about the project: “Sometimes you think you’re the only one having the problem, but in reality hundreds or thousands of people are experiencing exactly the same thing.

“But we’re crazy about life and forget to check each other. More than 75% of suicides are done by men, so tackling this topic from a man’s perspective is an important conversation. I hope it will be opened.
“This movie about loneliness focuses on starting a conversation about mental health issues with family, friends and trusted people.”
Stanley is Pierce’s middle son, and the presenter shares 27-year-old Spencer and 20-year-old Bertie with his ex-wife Marion Shallow.
He and his wife, Celia Waldren, are nine-year-old Elise’s parents.
