Scientists Reveal Safest Countries to Survive Total Nuclear Apocalypse

Scientists have revealed where to head during the apocalypse event.

Only a few island nations would be able to continue producing enough food to feed their populations in the event of a nuclear winter.

A nuclear winter is what scientists think will happen after a major nuclear war.

It is a prolonged period of severe global climate cooling, with widespread firestorms blocking direct sunlight.

The expected result is widespread crop failure and famine, which could devastate the population.

However, scientists now believe that: new zealand is one of five island nations that can survive a nuclear storm.

“Islands such as New Zealand often rely heavily on imports of refined liquid fuels, may lack energy self-sufficiency, and are vulnerable to failures or shortages of critical commodities.” said study author Professor Nick Wilson of the University of Otago Wellington.

“New Zealand is able to divert a high proportion of its dairy exports to supply its domestic market, but it lacks the capacity to manufacture many replacement parts for agricultural and food processing machinery.”

In this study, we observed a situation in which daylight decreased sharply.

This could be a nuclear war, a supervolcanic eruption, or asteroid impact.

They then applied “nuclear winter” conditions to 38 island nations to see how they coped with food caloric supply.

Some countries can provide enough food, while others cannot cope due to “collapse of industrial and social functions.”

However, the countries dealt with include New Zealand, Australia, Iceland, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

The authors warn that many countries would be in a perilous position in the event of such a catastrophe.

“New Zealand has the potential to sustain an industrial society through this kind of catastrophe, but it’s not ‘plug and play,'” said an Adapt Research researcher who worked on a study published in the journal Risk Analysis. Dr. Matt Boyd said. .

“Although there is a significant amount of strategic planning that needs to be done over time, this planning has the advantage of addressing a wide range of extreme risks.”

Governments around the world are now being asked to analyze how they will cope during a nuclear winter.

Dr. Boyd warned, “We are not aware of plans for this kind of global catastrophe, including whether distribution priorities are considered.”

“The government is expected to release New Zealand’s first National Security Strategy this year, so it is important not to overlook the catastrophic risks associated with a sudden reduction in sunlight scenarios.”
