Twin Peaks star Walter Orkevic died at the age of 72 after a 20-year battle with his health.
A veteran television actor who played bartender and dealer Jack Renault on a cult television show died early Tuesday morning due to complications due to his ongoing health problems.
He was bedridden after a series of knee surgeries that caused the infection.
Complications occurred shortly after the first surgery in 1999, and a total of 19 surgeries were performed, leaving Orkewitz in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
His son Zack Orkewitz (screenwriter) confirmed sad news about his father today. NME reported.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, he said: “He was a good man who pushed his love of creativity and art into everything he did.”
“He told me that passion. I look forward to telling it to my grandchildren, who he loved so much.”
In another Facebook post, Zack said his father’s death was “sudden”, but it didn’t seem to hurt or fear him.
He said he was still processing the news and apologized to everyone he contacted.
“He was a lot of great people, but most of the time he was a good person in his heart,” Zack said.
“I know that he misses not only his family but also the world because of the kind words he sends from everyone.”
Orkewitz was suffering from the possibility of participating in the 2017 Twin Peaks restart, Zack said.
“It was his first role in almost 15 years, and he did it all from behind the bar to cover the fact that he couldn’t stand.”
This was his last on-screen look.
Apart from this, the actor took a break during this time and focused on getting better.

Other roles in Orkevic included his appearance as oil refinery Dougie Boudreau at Grace Under Fire and “Nick the cable guy” at Seinfeld.
He also starred in The Client in 1994 as Mafia lawyer Jerome “Romy” Clifford.
