The coach of Palace Vieira seems to be kicking a fan at the Everton stadium

Amid Everton fans invading the pitch, Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira appeared to be chasing a fan who appeared to be chasing him during a scuffle.

The stadium was flooded with Everton fans after their team recovered from 2-0 at halftime to win 3-2 on Thursday and ensure the survival of the Premier League before the final round on Sunday.

As Vieira was trying to leave the pitch, a fan apparently holding a phone appeared to be reaching for the Frenchman. Vieira then turns around and tries to grab the phone before kicking it with his right foot. The fan fell to the ground.

The video of the chaos then shows Vieira trying to leave. Reporters at the post-match press conference were unaware of the incident when Vieira appeared, but Everton coach Frank Lampard later commented.

“I feel for Patrick,” Lampard said. “I did not understand him in the end. I would say, ‘Come with us,’ although he may not have wanted that. Of course he ran 80 yards on the court and it is not easy.”

On Tuesday, a Sheffield United player was attacked by a fan who fell on the pitch along with others. He was sentenced on Thursday to 24 weeks in prison.

Lampard defended the Everton fans who poured into the stadium.

“The joy of the fans who entered the stadium after avoiding relegation was pure,” he said. “If done the right way, let them stay on the pitch, let them have their time. As long as they behave, no problem.”
