Buckingham Palace has revealed that Prince Edinburgh is being treated for an infectious disease because his son, Prince Edward, said his father was “much better.”
The palace said in a statement Tuesday that Prince Phillip was “treated for an infection” and likely to be hospitalized for “a few days.”
“He is comfortable and responsive to treatment, but he is not expected to be discharged for a few days,” a short statement said.
Prince Phillip and the youngest of the Queen, Prince Edward, told Sky News that he had spoken to his father over the phone and that the royal family “keeps their fingers crossed.”

Edward said the family received a “great and lovely message” and “we are really grateful for it, and so is he.”
Asked if Duke was frustrated, Edward added, “Hey! I think it will reach all of us.”
The Duke is currently hospitalized for seven nights as police guards are waving medicines at the entrance and photos show that British media is camping on the other side.
On the eighth day, Prince Philip was standing in front of King Edward VII’s Hospital in central London, with a uniformed police officer and a top hat doorman wearing a face mask.
Concerns about the welfare of the 99-year-old, who was initially expected to be hospitalized only for “a few days of observation and rest,” remained high, so a tired camera crew camp across the door to prepare for the renewal. .. Buckingham Palace.
He was admitted to the private Marylebone Hospital on Tuesday night after feeling “sick,” but was reportedly driven 26 miles (42 kilometers) from Windsor Castle.

According to sources, Philip’s doctor “acted with great care.”

This heightened fear when Prince Charles visited his father in the hospital from Gloucestershire on Saturday and entered through the back door of the hospital to meet the guards.
The Prince of Wales looked gloomy, but Duke’s condition must be stable as he returned to Highgrove’s home on a 200-mile (320-kilometer) round trip rather than choosing to stay near London. Some speculated that it wasn’t. ..
Other members of the royal family have not yet met the Duke at the hospital. The 94-year-old Queen remained in Windsor, and in January she and Philip received at least one Oxford / AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
The palace initially did not reveal the reason behind Prince Phillip’s hospitalization, but sources said it was not Covid-related. All patients in the hospital are tested for the virus before admission and in their room.
Prince William told reporters yesterday that his grandfather was “ok” and had a cheeky wink while visiting an immunization center in eastern England. “Yes, he’s okay. They’re watching him,” the Duke of Cambridge, 38, told journalists.

The 73-year-old Queen’s husband was helicopted from his home in Sandringham, Norfolk to the same hospital about a year ago to treat his “existing condition.” The palace did not elaborate on the nature of his illness and treatment at the time.
He was treated for coronary artery occlusion in 2011, bladder infection in 2012, and exploratory abdominal surgery in June 2013. I also stayed for two nights in 2017, just before retiring from public life, but the move the palace claimed was not. Health related.
He underwent hip arthroplasty in April 2018 and recovered successfully for the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan a month later.
