Could you tell us a little bit about your business?

My Auto Shop opened in January 2020 to take the stress and anxiety out of car care. After the difficult situation caused by COVID-19, we have grown to serve tens of thousands of Kiwi drivers and have over 300 talented MTA certified mechanics across New Zealand on our marketplace. to help find new customers and grow technology-enabled mobile mechanic services in Auckland and Wellington. and Christchurch.

Our new take on mobile mechanics is particularly exciting, as the technology we have built in-house will enable our mechanics to deliver superior service at your doorstep. WIFI-equipped vans, instant pricing algorithms, and interactive work reports make car repairs more comfortable than ever.

What is the background of your business idea?

With over 3.5 million passenger cars in New Zealand and an average age of 15 years, our cars need love. But the typical Kiwi driver knows very little about our vehicles. Cars are becoming more complex every year, creating a large information asymmetry between mechanics and customers, which in turn causes a great deal of anxiety. Then comes the experience of finding a trustworthy mechanic, taking the car to the shop between busy days, and then worrying about the mystery of how much it will cost, which is no fun. That fixed it!

What programs, learning, and teaching have helped you so far?

I love seeing other companies around the world innovate in the same industry. Collaborating with others across the ocean provides a tremendous amount of insight.
