Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is expecting a baby with girlfriend Erin Darke

Daniel Radcliffe has announced that he will soon be a father as he prepares to welcome his first child with girlfriend Erin Darke.

According to The Sun, the Harry Potter star met Darke while working on the film in 2012 and it was “love at first sight.”

After the pair were photographed in NYC, Dirk showed off their baby bump, confirming their pending arrival.

Radcliffe, 33, is reportedly thrilled to be a father for the first time, with a source saying, “My relationship with Erin is really special and I think everyone would make great parents.

“They’ve been pretty quiet until now, but she can’t hide the bump anymore.”

The Sun reports that Radcliffe and Darke met on the set of the film Kill Your Darlings, and according to the Harry Potter star, their first meeting was “because of what our characters do to each of them. It’s going to be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day… and more.”

“Our characters meet and flirt with each other, so we have a sweet record of meeting each other for the first time and flirting,” he says of their characters in the film.

Radcliffe also spoke about that first encounter in another interview, saying that he was immediately attracted to Dirk and never had to act in their scenes.

“There are moments when she makes me laugh, and I’m laughing as myself, not as my character.

“She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”

The actor denied rumors that the couple were engaged or married in secret, but called Darke his “best friend” and said he was eager for a lifelong commitment.

“I think it’s the kind of relationship I always want with someone I’m in a relationship with.

“You want the person to be your best friend. In the case of Erin, we definitely do.”
