Mark Spite is lovingly remembered this week to commemorate his 13th anniversary of his death.

The CBBC star committed suicide on April 7, 2008, at the age of 42, just three months after his fiancé Natasha Collins died.

Kirsten O’Brien, famous for announcing SMart with Speight for many years, shared a tweet in honor of a friend who died on Wednesday.

“Before going to bed, I was the weirdest person I’ve ever had, just thinking about my fellow Mark Spite, who died 13 years ago today,” she tweeted.

Love Island host Iain Stirling said: [sic] I was very excited when I started working at CBBC. A true legend. ”

Encouraging his followers to check in their loved ones, he added: You can make all the differences. X. ‘

Speight was well known as one of CBBC’s top hosts, but was overwhelmed by the sadness of Collins’ posthumous death and stopped introducing SMart.

Kirsten recently opened about Speight’s death And I remembered how she had the difficult task of publishing news to young fans at Newsround.

“It was just terrible,” she said in the HotMessMums podcast.

“I felt a lot of pressure because I knew it wasn’t me. It’s strange, but I felt like I was in front of a storm.”

Recalling the attention to Speight’s death, Kirsten said: train…

“Everyone knows that he’s throwing the metro everywhere. I can see his face everywhere on the train.”

Kirsten asked her what happened to Spite in public and revealed how to send her into a flood of tears.

When asked what he would have done if Speight had lived in the social media era, Kirsten said: The media at that time.

“I don’t think he did that during that period after Tash died and Mark was still there. [sic] I totally liked the social media environment that Caroline Flack recently proved to congratulate her, it’s not just a good world …

“In a sense, there is a little mercy that he didn’t have to experience that social media environment.”
