49 new constables set out

363 Wing is certified and will graduate from its first training course on Thursday 2nd March.

49 recruits have passed and are celebrating their success with Whanau and friends tomorrow afternoon.

Attending the ceremony will be Andrew Coster, Minister of Police, Honorable Stuart Nash and 363 Wing Patron and retired Black Caps cricketer Grant Elliott.

Top of the wing, recruit Emma Hensman, studied law and languages ​​at the University of Auckland. She was also a youth minister in a non-denominational church, so she has a diverse and wide range of skills to bring to the front lines of the New Zealand Police.

Emma previously worked as a licensed cop and police prosecutor with the Manukau County Police Department.

“I am honored to receive this award,” says Emma. “I joined New Zealand Police because I care about the community and want to help people.”

She is looking forward to starting a career that will challenge her and help her grow.

Emma is assigned to the County Manukau District.

The winner of the Wing Leadership Award is rookie Anthony Tuitavake, who played rugby sevens in New Zealand and became All Blacks #1072 in 2008. Anthony continued his sports career in Japan and France, where he also coached rugby.

He said, “Giving back to the community is important to me. I wanted to enroll after graduating from , but it didn’t happen, but now I’ve come full circle and gained a lot of life experience.”

Second on the wing and assigned to the Eastern Division is Recruit’s Alexander Gunson.

Alex is a qualified builder and is looking forward to entering the bustling district and helping the community. is.

There are four recruits who have served in the police in other roles, such as file management center, emergency communications center, and certified officer.

Six of the recruits are involved in volunteer activities such as Surf Life Saving, St. John Ambulance, and Community Patrol. Four recruits were members of the New Zealand Defense Force.

Four of the recruits, Dean Naude, Ghislain Paul, Linda Ninavar, and Scott Abbott, are of South African descent, speak Afrikaans, and have something in common with the Wing Patrons.

363 Wing Patron is Grant Elliot. Born in South Africa, he arrived on New Zealand shores in 2003 and brought his skills to cricket that mattered. He was first called up to play for the Black Caps in 2008.

He has played over 100 games for the Black Caps and is widely regarded by his teammates as a hardworking and reliable player who always puts the team first. His name is written in New Zealand cricket folklore. He struck his six of the wins against his native South Africa and led the Blacks to their only-ever World Cup final in 2015.

His international sporting prowess means he’s familiar with team culture, motivations, and knows exactly what it takes to build a high-performing team.

Demographics:
25% are female and 75% are male.
New Zealand Europeans make up 65.3% of the wing, Maori 10.2%, Pacific 12.2% and Asian 12.2%.
