Jack Angel died at the age of 90

Voice actor Jack Angel, known for his work on Voltron and Transformers in many television, feature film and video game credits, died at the age of 90.

The news of his death was shared by the talent agency of Angel’s Agent Arlene Thornton & Associates.


His agency confirmed that the voice behind the most famous cartoon characters of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s had died.

Born October 24, 1930 in Modesto, California, Angel graduated from San Francisco State University in 1957 and began his career as a disc jockey in Merced.

Angel worked at broadcasting stations around Los Angeles, mainly on the radio, and also played the role of a stage as an actor.

He gradually turned into a voice actor, but when the demo he recorded fell into the hands of the agent, he moved to full-time vocal work 20 years later on the radio.

Angel began animating as Hanna-Barbera’s Super Friends and related series as Hakuman, Flash, and Super Samurai in the mid-1970s. He also joined Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo and Smurf as guests in the early 80’s.

His cartoon career gained momentum in many roles.

This included Voltron: Defender of the Universe (including King Zarkon), who participated in the Cast of The Transformers as a Smokescreen in the second season and undertook Ramjet and Astrotrain.

He replayed them in Transformers The Movie, Omega Supreme, Ultra Magnus and more.

Angel has announced the role of many famous 1980s cartoons, including GI Joe, The Real Ghostbusters, DuckTales, Gem, Superman, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In the 1990s, Angel performed repetitive roles and additional audio work on television.

This saw him lend his dexterous voice to Peter Pan and Pirates, Tiny Toon Adventures, Tails Spin and Darkwing Duck, and Sonic the Hedgehog, Bonkers, Mask, Casper and Spider-Man (as Nick Fury). ..

Starting with The Rugrats in 1999, Angel has contributed to many Nickelodeon Toon favorites.

He is Hey Arnold! , The Wild Thornberrys, My Life as a Teenage Robot, El Tigre and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
