“He misses too many opportunities.”
According to former Arsenal star Perry Groves, the transferee, Tammy Abraham, “has missed too many opportunities.”
And Groves believes that Abraham is suitable for clubs like West Ham. West Ham is also interested in contracting with him.
When asked at talkSPORT if Abraham was enough to play on the front lines of top clubs, Groves said:
“I don’t think he’s at that level because he misses too many opportunities. He’s not calm enough at the finish.
“He had a great season under Frank Lampard and scored 15 goals in 34 games, but Chelsea have created many opportunities and still missed many.
“His general play has been improved under Lampard for fairness, but it’s an add-on. The striker is judged by the finish, so it’s not judged by general play, hold-up play. ..
“If you’re playing for Chelsea and you see Werner missing a chance this season, so is Kai Havertz, but if you’re playing for the top four clubs, you’ll have two in every club. You will score three expected goals. The game, and you must take at least one of them.
“I don’t think he’s at that level.
“He had two great seasons in the championship with Aston Villa and Bristol City, but I think he still has a lot to prove.
“If I were him, he would have to go and play now. He would have to play first team football.
“Thomas Tuchel doesn’t fantasize about him at all. Last season he wasn’t on the team or on the bench.
“So he has to go and play, and he was able to fit West Ham … it depends on how much it costs.
“He’s the highest scorer in Chelsea, he’s young in English, and I think he’s probably worth about £ 30m. I think a price like £ 45m is too high.
“I think the move to West Ham is perfect for him. He is not the top four striker in the Premier League.”
