Tech Unicorn has doubled its technical team each year since 2019, boasting nearly 500 engineers across artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science and design.

This technology investment and increased attention to data and AI will further accelerate the company’s position as a global market leader in meal time choices while improving the level of customer personalization.

Today, more than half (54%) of Gousto’s orders are delivered by AI via Gousto’s proprietary recommendation engine. This is the best since its conception.

Accelerate leadership in choice

This announcement will be made when Gousto has increased and expanded its weekly recipe options from 50 to 60. We serve more than 3,000 meals from 44 regions around the world, including savory Thai green shrimp noodle soup and meat-free minced keema naan and cucumber writer. Customers can also customize their recipes, resulting in over 370,000 potential box combinations per week.

Thanks to the growth of technology, soon Gousto customers You will be able to choose from hundreds of weekly recipes from their menu.

Examples of these product enhancements are provided by the data in the recipe box. This shows that diversity is a major driver of target customers, with 80% looking for world food at dinner and 83% prioritizing experimenting with new recipes. This year, recipes tagged “new” in the Gousto menu proved to be 66% more popular than existing recipes.

Leveraging the leadership of choice and meeting the needs of British people who hesitate to travel, Gousto launches “Flavourlust” in the capital. This is a completely immersive two-day travel and dining event that provides hungry British with a culinary experience exclusively for travel. Reach to Red List countries (India, Brazil, Thailand).

Supported by DJ Nick Grimshaw, Gousto Ambassador, and Comedian Katherine Ryan, the event says 82% of British people avoid trips that require quarantine.

Shaun Pearce, Chief Technology Officer of Gousto, said:

As a customer-obsessed company, we focus our investment on improving the customer experience. This can only be achieved by a firm focus on technology and data.

Rapid investment in technology to build capabilities over the last 18 months has meant that homes across the country can be provided with a rich home experience through food and cooking at times of great limitation. Flavorlust continues these efforts and leverages our culinary expertise to bring an inaccessible culinary experience for traveling the vigilant British.

Technology-driven growth

Earlier this year, Goousto announced that it had achieved its first full-year profitability since its launch, with record sales in 2020 of £ 189m, up 129%. This strong growth, which lasted until 2021, sold more than 25 million meals in the first quarter alone. This is due to Gousto’s ability to take advantage of the three consumer trends that drive groceries to gain market share from supermarkets. Convenience, health, sustainability:

  • comfortable: Customers want frictionless shopping and choices that are relevant to them. The customer data collected means that Gousto’s technical team can personalize their 60-week recipe choices to their unique tastes.
  • health: Gousto’s data-driven menu sets baseline criteria for recipes and establishes nutrient content and calorie cap thresholds. Customers get the ability to customize each dietary element to healthier options, in addition to accurately measured materials that help with partial management.
  • sustainability: Gousto uses predictive algorithms to reliably predict supply needs at the manufacturing site. This means that less than 1% of food is wasted in facilities, compared to about 20% in supermarket supply chains. The exact amount also means that there is almost zero household waste. For each Gousto order, you can save 2 kg of food waste and 7 kg of CO2 emissions compared to similar supermarket stores.
