April 16, 2021-Decades-old doctor Ted W. Grace, a decade-old doctor involved in the Ohio State University sexual abuse scandal, performs medical and surgical operations in Ohio, according to the State Medical Commission. I abandoned my license.

The surrender is permanent, says medical committee spokesman Joel Whitstone. Grace’s administrative hearing, scheduled for April 20-23, has been cancelled, he says.

Grace, director of student health services at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, has resigned from that post as a named successor earlier this week. Southern Illinois Reported on Thursday. Grace resigned on March 12, says a university spokesman.

“This is the first person to be held accountable for this turmoil,” many complained that Dr. Richard Strauss, a former team doctor and health center doctor at the university, improperly examined and touched. One of the students, Stephen Snyderhill, says. he. Grace oversaw Strauss. Snyder-Hill complained in 1995. He says his dissatisfaction was dispelled when he requested a meeting and got it.

In mid-March, a working group charged with Governor Mike DeWine considering the treatment of the state medical committee for investigations, including Strauss, released a final report. As a result, the Board has resumed 91 proceedings, including closed sexual improper proceedings. He also recommended that another 42 proceedings be resumed due to a failed report, including an investigation into Grace.

The Medical Commission said that while Grace was the director of OSU’s student medical services, Grace was aware of widespread rumors that Strauss had improperly touched students. The board also stated that Grace is aware of at least three individual complaints against Strauss, including Snyderhill. The board said Grace gave Strauss a verbal warning, but said he did not report the case to the state medical committee. Grace also sent a letter to the second student who complained, falsely saying that no complaints about Strauss had been previously reported. After the third complaint, Grace suspended Strauss from seeing students at the health center, but did not report to the medical committee, the correspondence said.Strauss died by suicide In 2005.

OSU launched an independent investigation in 2018, and in May 2019, at least 177 ex-students were abused by Strauss while working on campus from 1978 to 1998, and university officials investigated or appropriate. I reported that I did not take any action.

Snyder-Hill, an outspoken advocate of LGBTQ rights, author, Major of the Army, and nutritionist in Columbus, oversaw COVID-19. vaccination As a public health worker when his lawyer called him to tell him the news. While the license waiver is good news and a “monumental step in this process,” Snyderhill says more needs to be done. I will continue to escalate this.My focus is exactly what the Governor of Ohio said, and any medical professional who didn’t report [impropriety] You will be held liable. “

Snyder-Hill says his focus has now shifted to psychologists at old meetings when he was told that he was “confused and wrong” about abuse.

The Ohio State Medical Commission makes decisions about Ohio licenses for physicians, but has no authority over licenses in other states. On Friday, the Illinois licensing website stated that Grace’s license was active, without disciplinary action.
