Spiritual Certificate of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

Later in life, looking back on the decades we’ve wandered, we realize how much we have to be grateful, first and foremost.

Above all, I thank God Himself for all the good gifts that gave me life and guided me out of all kinds of confusion. Always picked me up when I started skating and always gave me a new light in his face.

Looking back, I understand and understand that even this dark and rough road was for my salvation and that God has guided me well on that road.

Thank you to my parents for giving me life in difficult times and lovingly preparing a wonderful home. This house illuminates my days as a bright light to this day.

His clear faith taught us brothers and sisters to believe and to stand firm as a guide in all my scientific knowledge. My mother’s heartfelt piety and great kindness remain a legacy to which I am grateful.

For decades my sister has served me with selfless and kind concern. Her brother has always been a man of clear judgment, strong decisiveness, and a bright mind, and has paved the way for me. Without this ever-new thing moving forward, we would never have found the right path.

I thank God with all my heart for the many friends, men and women, whom He has always kept by my side. For my colleagues every step of the way. For the teachers and students he gave me.

I gratefully entrust them all to his goodwill.

And I want to thank the Lord for my beautiful home at the foot of Bavaria in the Alps. There I could see the magnificence of the Creator Himself shining through again and again.

I thank the people of my country for allowing me to experience the wonders of faith again and again.

I pray that our country will continue to be a country of faith. Dear compatriots, please don’t let your faith get distracted.

Finally, I thank God for all the beauty I was able to experience at different stages of my journey, especially Rome and Italy, which has become my adopted home.

From the bottom of my heart, I ask forgiveness from all those whom I have wronged in any way.

As I said earlier about my brethren, I say to all who are entrusted with the ministry of the church. Stand firm in the faith! Don’t get confused!

It often looks like science, but on the other hand it is a natural science. On the other hand, historical studies (especially biblical interpretations) offer irrefutable insights contrary to the Catholic Faith.

I have long witnessed the transformation of the natural sciences, how the apparent certainty against faith has disappeared, and proved itself not to be a science, but a philosophical interpretation that only clearly belongs to it. I’ve seen A science in which faith has learned to understand the limits of its affirmation, and thus its own peculiarities.

For 60 years I have been on the path of theology, especially Bible studies. We’ve seen a seemingly unshakable thesis collapse with generational change, but it turns out to be just a hypothesis. The existentialist generation (Burtmann, etc.), the Marxist generation.

I have seen how the rationality of faith emerges and emerges from the tangle of hypotheses.

Jesus Christ is truly the way, the truth, and the life. The church, with all its flaws, is truly his body.

Finally, I humbly ask: Pray for me that the Lord may grant me an eternal abode, despite all my sins and shortcomings. For all those entrusted to me, my heartfelt prayers are fading day by day.
