More rain could cause more damage to Central Hawke’s Bay country roads
Heavy rains that cause slip have already caused about $40 million worth of damage to the district’s roads.

feared More rain in central Hawke’s Bay This weekend will cause further damage to saturated rural roads in the district, which have been severely damaged by heavy rains over the past three months.
The rain this week has caused even more problems.
Some coastal areas were hit by quakes of around 100mm on Thursday night and Friday morning.
More rain is expected this weekend, with Central Hawke Bay Mayor Alex Walker saying even a little rain could make things worse.
“There is road infrastructure that is really affected by this. It’s like.”
About $40 million worth of damage has been caused to the district’s roads, and the council is seeking government funding to help repair the roads.

We warned people not to cross the slip as it can be unstable.
Drivers were warned to drive with caution as heavy rains could significantly increase the number of potholes in the district.
