Covid 19 Coronavirus: Are there new cases in the community?Ministry of Health is ready to provide the latest information

It will be revealed if anyone else tested positive for Covid-19 in connection with the Valentine’s cluster.

The Ministry of Health will send a statement to the media around 1 pm with the latest test results.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Director of Health Ashley Bloomfield will hold a press conference at 3:00 pm after the Cabinet meeting.

This morning, Ardern revealed that there was a clear chain of infections to the two latest incidents that put Auckland into a level 3 blockade for a week.

The family of the latest case contacted people in the second case during the last 72 hours of the blockade, which was intended to be quarantined.

During the infection, the 21-year-old visited many high-risk environments, including Manukau Institute of Technology, workplaces, and gyms.

Anyone who was in a place of interest is considered either a close contact, a contact, or a “casual plus contact”.

Close contacts should do the following: Self-quarantine for 14 days and take the test.

The casual plus close contacts are: Stay home, get tested as soon as possible and call Healthline at 08003585453. Stay home until you receive a negative test result. Self-monitoring of Covid-19 symptoms for 14 days after exposure. If you experience symptoms after the first negative test, get another test right away and stay home until you get a negative test result.

Casual contact: Monitor your health for the next 14 days. If you feel sick or start to have Covid-19 symptoms, contact Healthline (0800 358 5454) for a test and stay home until the test is negative.

How Covid spread

Ardern told Newstalk ZB’s Mike Hosking that this meant there was a direct chain of infection in the current outbreak.

After many interviews, authorities discovered new contacts-two families contacted under alert level 3 last weekend.

“Obviously, I contacted here at level 3 when that shouldn’t have happened,” Ardern said.

“This was a family member who was already identified as having Covid, was part of contact tracing, and did not identify contact with this family member.

“That is, we go back and re-interview and say,’I’ve confirmed that this happened, so I don’t have all of your contacts, is there anything else?'” And we do everything we can to determine if anyone else has come into contact. “

“The most important thing for us is that people are talking to us. Obviously, we contacted when it shouldn’t have happened at level 3, but the best people can do. That is still telling us the truth, “Ardern said.

“If we knew this, the other families we found a week later would have been in close contact and quarantined, and we weren’t in this situation. Let’s say the truth is very important to us. “”

Ardern told the AM show that the person had been interviewed by the authorities and did not reveal the meeting.

“I couldn’t tell you whether they forgot or lied, which obviously had devastating consequences,” she said.

She said it was not up to her to take any action.

“People do stupid things, but if they plunder them to the point where they don’t tell the truth, we’re not going to get over this.”

She said there were multiple violations that occurred across two families at the center of the outbreak.

“The decision on whether enforcement will take place is not mine,” she said.

Ardern said he always has two ideas about keeping people aside to prevent them from dying and to obey the rules.
