Chris Parry, 28, was last seen on Friday with British man Andrew Bagshaw, 48, heading to the town of Soledar in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.

The man worked as a volunteer helping people evacuate from the front lines of the war after Russia invaded the country in February 2022.

The Parry family, including his parents and partner, said in a statement:

“He is an extraordinary man of compassion and compassion, and will not let that deter him from his work in Ukraine liberating the elderly and disabled for which we are very proud.

“We, his family and partners all love him very much and would appreciate your respecting our privacy during this difficult time.”

Heavy fighting was reported in the area and contact was lost with the pair on Friday.

Mr. Bagshaw, who lives in new zealandwas in Ukraine to help deliver humanitarian aid, according to New Zealand media reports.

A spokesman for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Department said it was “supporting the families of two British men who went missing in Ukraine.”

Their disappearance follows the disappearance of five Britons. liberated by Russian-backed forces in Ukraine in September.
