Axar fifer helps hosts take control (Stumps, Day 3)

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 27 (ANI): Team India bowled New Zealand at 296 on the third day of the first test in progress. It took place here on Saturday at Green Park Stadium.

Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin starred in the bowl because they scalped five and three wickets, respectively. Umesh Yadaf and Ravindra Jadeya are back alone. For visitors, Tom Latham and Will Young scored top scores in 95 and 89 runs, respectively.

At Stamps, India scored 14/1 with a 5 over and the host led 63 runs by the end of the third day. Cheteshwar Pujara (9) and Mayank Agarwal (4) are currently undefeated in the creases.

Kiwi was surprised when he resumed his third session on 249/6, with Axor Patel leaving Tom Brandel with 124 runs and only 13 runs, followed by Tim Sauchy with 128.

Kyle Jamison played a solid inning and looked like Kiwi’s last hope, but was sent back by Ravichandran Ashwin after recording 23 runs. William Summerville was the last batter to leave after passing Ashwin for the 143rd time.

Later, when he came back to Bat, the host was shocked as opener Shubuman Gil was cleanly bowled by Jamison for the second inning. Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal stood in the creases and kept the scoreboard moving.

Earlier that day, Ashwin fired Will Young, Umesh Yadav took away New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson a few minutes before lunch, and India finished its first session high.
