Hearings begin for apprentice jockey charged with careless riding during deadly race
A hearing of an apprentice jockey charged with careless riding in the race that killed fellow jockey Megan Taylor will take place Tuesday morning.
On December 15th, several horses collided during a race at Ashburton Raceway in Canterbury, causing Taylor to fall off his horse.
The 23-year-old died from her injuries later that same day.
Karen Parsons, who trained Taylor’s Red Orchid, told RNZ. 4 horses fell in the race.
January, Racing Integrity Board prosecuted the apprentice jockey I accidentally got on.
The hearing will be held at Addington Raceway in Christchurch.
