Grundfos Attains Platinum Rating from EcoVadis for Sustainability Initiatives
EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings globally, evaluates over 130,000 companies based on their corporate and social responsibility actions and practices. Grundfos underwent assessment across four critical areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Since its previous evaluation where it received a Gold rating, Grundfos has implemented additional measures and policies aimed at strengthening social and environmental responsibility throughout its value chain. Notably, the company has made significant strides towards its water and climate goals, underscoring its steadfast commitment to sustainability and ongoing improvement.
“We are immensely proud of achieving the Platinum rating, which is a testament to the dedication of our colleagues worldwide,” stated Louise Koch, Senior Director and Group Head of Sustainability at Grundfos. “This recognition motivates us to continuously enhance our ESG practices, including our journey towards net zero emissions by 2050, fostering an equitable, inclusive, and safe workplace, upholding robust ethical business standards, and ensuring sustainable procurement across our operations.”
Silvio Vanzo, Group Senior Vice President of Purchasing at Grundfos, emphasized the collaborative effort behind the achievement: “Attaining Platinum certification underscores Grundfos’ commitment to responsible business practices and reflects the close collaboration and trust with our loyal suppliers and customers. Their collaboration has been pivotal in advancing our ESG initiatives across our entire supply chain.”
Grundfos’s sustainability achievements include a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated net-zero emissions target for 2050. The company has already reduced its CO2 emissions by 11.7% since 2020 and is on track to achieve a 50% reduction in operational carbon emissions by 2025, five years ahead of schedule. In 2023, Grundfos solutions facilitated an estimated 1.6 billion m³ water savings for customers and reduced water withdrawal in its own operations by 48% since 2020.
To ensure a fair, inclusive, and safe workplace environment, Grundfos maintains robust labour policies and practices throughout its value chain. The company also upholds stringent anti-corruption measures, conducts regular audits, and provides comprehensive training to uphold ethical standards across its operations.
