TENNIS legend Roger Federer attended the Rugby World Cup Final between South Africa and New Zealand.
Federer was spotted in the stands on Saturday as he watched the live action at Stade de France.
However, the Wimbledon great wasn’t just there to marvel on rugby greatness.
The former world No1 also had a personal interest in this encounter as he is half South African.
The 42-year-old’s mother Lynette Durand is from Kempton Park, Gauteng in South Africa.
Federer always competed with the flag of Switzerland as he was born in Basel, but he is actually half Swiss.
And fans are just realising their favourite tennis player of all time has dual nationality.
One fan tweeted: “Federer supporting South Africa win the Rugby World Cup, didn’t realise his mum is South African.”
Another commented: “My main takeaway from that is why was Roger Federer supporting South Africa?”
A third posted: “We love him. The half-South African. Our Rog.”
