Diversion after serious crash in Timaru
Over the past two days, there have been a series of serious traffic accidents across the country.

Emergency services are responding to a one-vehicle crash on Evans Street in Timaru.
Police were called to the scene of the serious clash around 7:45 p.m.
A detour has been set up along Beverly Road and Trafalgar Street, the scene has been cleared, and police say motorists should avoid the area if possible.
Update 8:30pm
State Highway 1 is currently closed between Trafalgar St and Beverley Rd.
Continue to follow the instructions of on-site emergency services.
The road will remain closed while the SCU is present and an investigation is taking place.
