Christchurch couple urges auditors general to investigate firms receiving wage subsidies
The General Accountability Office is being challenged over his decision to take no action on the need for businesses to pay back billions of dollars in wage subsidies.
The Gama Foundation, a Christchurch-based charity, today submitted an application for judicial review to the High Court in Wellington.
The foundation is run by former Christchurch businessman Grant Nelson and his wife Marilyn. Over the past 25 years, they have donated over $50 million of his to charity.
Nelson has been researching wage subsidies for more than two years. He could do everything within his power for Auditor General John Ryan to recover an estimated $5 billion overpaid and $2 billion wrongly acquired or held by corporations. I am concerned that it did not.read more
