Amazon has unveiled the latest version of its popular Echo Show 5, designed specifically for the Australian and New Zealand markets. The Echo Show 5, known for its compact five-inch screen and powered by Alexa, is perfect for various household uses, such as in bedrooms or kitchens.
The third-generation Echo Show 5 features significant upgrades, including an AZ2 Neural Edge processor for enhanced speed, a reengineered microphone array for better voice recognition, and an upgraded speaker system that delivers clearer audio quality for music, videos, podcasts, and more.
This smart display also supports Matter, allowing seamless integration with a wide range of compatible smart home devices across different brands, further enhancing its utility in smart home setups.
In line with Amazon’s commitment to privacy, the Echo Show 5 includes features like a manual mic/camera off button and a built-in camera shutter, ensuring users have full control over their Alexa interactions and voice recordings.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the Echo Show 5 features a fabric made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester yarn and aluminum crafted from 100% recycled materials. Its packaging is also environmentally friendly, utilizing 99% wood fiber-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
Pre-orders for the new Echo Show 5 began on June 19 on Amazon’s Australian site, Amazon.com.au/echoshow5, with availability in leading retailers across Australia and New Zealand starting July 10. The device will retail for A$169 and will be available in black, white, and cloud blue color options.
