Wellington [New Zealand]15 November (ANI): New Zealand Cricket announced the teams for the next series against India on Tuesday.
The Black Caps will face India in a total of six white ball contests (three T20I and three ODIs) beginning on Friday, with the Kiwis unveiling their 13-player squad pairings for the match on Tuesday.
Kane Williamson will captain both sides at the T20 squad meeting in Wellington on Wednesday, but there will be no room for veteran opener Martin Guptill and pacer Trent Boult.
Finn Allen is ready to face India for the first time after being confirmed with both BLACKCAPS teams for the upcoming tour, which starts in Wellington on Friday.
Allen, 23, has already played 23 T20Is and 8 ODIs in BLACKCAPS, amassing 5 half centuries and 100.
Allen’s continued lead on both teams means there is no room for Martin Guptir.
Torrent Vault is another notable omission from the team. Tim Southey, Matt Henry (ODI only), Rocky Ferguson, Blair his Tickner and Adam Milne fill out Pace his bowling ranks.
Milne will play his first ODI since 2017, building on his return to the T20 International Arena in the recent try series and last year’s ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE.
New Zealand manager Gary Stead says it will never be easy to rule out the experience of Boult and Guptil but the team must keep looking ahead.
“When Trent opted out of contracting with NZC in August, it indicated that priority would be given to players with central or domestic contracts. We recognize our world-class capabilities, but this time – as we build towards a more global event, we want to provide opportunities and experiences for others. Finn’s emergence and success in Whiteball Cricket , meaning the man in Martin Guptill’s class missed – that’s the nature of high performance sports,” Stead said in an official statement released by NZC.
“With over 50 World Cups in less than a year, we want to give Finn every opportunity to continue building up his ODI experience, especially against a quality opponent like India. The message to the players is that there is a lot of international cricket out there. The door is certainly not closed,” he added.
The tour begins with the three-game T20 International Series in Wellington (18 November), Tauranga (20 November) and Napier (22 November), followed by Auckland (25 November) and Hamilton (11 November). 27th March), we will move on to the ODI series in Christchurch. (November 30th).
Tim Southey became the fifth New Zealander to take 200 ODI wickets in the one-day series, with the 33-year-old Talley looking to take 199.
Tom Latham returns as ODI wicketkeeper, followed by Devon Conway behind the stumps on the T20 side.
